I had to put this here because I need to remember it.
Lately, I’ve been losing weight, and as much as I’d like to completely attribute it to my 4-year plan, I’m mostly losing weight because I’m kinda sick (meeting with a new doctor later this month, yippee! (⌣̯̀⌣́)).
I must be looking good cause I’ve been getting some looks as I go about town, having my fun. This time, I was hitting up my favorite spot: MARSHALLS, spending money I don’t have on aaaaalllll the kbeauty I could find. One of the employees, a woman, gave me a basket cause she got tired of seeing me juggle products in my arms (it’s the challenge that I like! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧). When I came near her again, she started complimenting me, HARD.
“I love your [afro] hair.”
“You are very beautiful *makes affirming facial expressions*.”
“A natural beauty!”
I ain’t never been called a natural beauty before and I don’t want to take it for granted (the employee could give everyone the same compliment in the beauty department, but I’m not keeping that! LOL! (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖), so I’m putting it here for when I’m down. The compliments really came on time and I kinda had a bit of a spring in my step as I approached check-out. I was looking at the cashier confidently like, you know you see this NATURAL beauty! (๑˃́ꇴ˂̀๑)
Over the week as I’ve been trying to organize my experience in Chicago, I’ve been wondering if I should post photos of my weight loss so you guys can see and I can chronicle my progress. These compliments might’ve been the push I need.
Hit me up in the comments if you think it’s a good idea; otherwise, I’ll…*keeps thinking on it*
