I was not prepared for D-2. Who would be for such an ingeniously produced album? AND it still stuns me that Yoongi knew exactly that he was to be a producer and knew EXACTLY that he’d be amazing at it! Meanwhile, I’m still trying to figure things out a third of a lifetime in (;´Д`)ﾉ=͟͟͞͞┻┻
But lemme just get in on some observations bout Yoongi, aka Suga, aka Agust D, aka my spirit animal in that Daechwita MV. Not only did he look HOT AS HELL twirling a dangerous sword, but it was puuuuuure chaos and I LOVED IT!
Each artist in BTS has their own take on becoming a person in their own right but Agust D by far has the most relatable conflict for me. He knows there’s more to life and his entire being wants to consume all of that and more. His ego showed when bragging about how Bang PD was making tons of money because of him with no end in sight. Yet, it’s not enough!
Even when he’s clearly facing execution and shows little respect for others meeting the same fate, Agust D/Fake King (I think they’re supposed to be the same person but I ain’t look nothin up yet so don’t @ me) dances on their backs. He even begins rapping again in front of the executioner. He’s got hella guts and will go to the wire to get what he wants.
I can’t tell you the intensity of personal feelings that ran through me while watching the MV and I imagine Agust D’s emotions are just as intense for how badly he wants to have it all. I can say through the whole viewing I wanted the same thing. I had as much desire and ache for more as he did. There are days that I just KNOW I’m bomb and I need people to see it. There’s so much unsatisfaction when I can’t be the fullest parts of myself and it’s restricting. Seeing Agust D free himself of his confinds was exactly what I wanted.
Also, I’ve been humming Interlude: Set me free every moment I get, even now while I type this, so yea, Yoongi is still messing with my emotions.
I’m totally an OT7 stan with RM as my ultimate bias but Yoongi completes me.
That’s it! I’mma fan myself now.
Stay Fighting 💜
